Re the looping sound in case you are asleep when a market closes.

Hmmmmm.

How about a version which taps you on the shoulder when a market closes? That would be nice.

Layit. Great program.

Just wondered if it's possible in some future edition you could make the betting manager section moveable up and down according to the size of the field. (To reduce the gap between the last selection and the cancel all button on small fields.)

Can someone please explain (preferably not Layit - leave him to work on bigger and better things) what a "Dutch Bet" is? and how it works.

I've managed to figure out that selecting a few "Dutch" tickboxes and putting a Dutch Profit Required of 10 sometimes leads to the button turning green. Clicking on this button gives the dialog "Last Action: Placed Dutch Bet" - but no bets are placed. As you probably realise, I'm a tad confused. Thanks.

A dutch bet is..... backing several selections in one race at their available odds and with various amounts in order that a identical profit is made irrespective of which selection actually wins. The back button shows the total amount to be staked (it alters as the odds vary) and it turns green only when the odds are such that you will make the profit you have entered in the "profit required" box.

As to why your bets are not being placed? I have no idea. Mine works perfectly. Are the tick boxes selected? Have you entered an amount to profit?

Maybe the answer is.... the selections you've made are at such "big" odds and the relatively small profit of 10 means that your individual stakes are less than £2 each . As £2 is the minimum stake no bet is transmitted. The "last action" button tells you what you've done (or tried to do) but you're below minimum stake!

I understood from earlier posts that the button wouldn't go green if stakes were below the minimum. But now I know what a dutch bet is, I'll give it another try.

Ok - trying on the 19:10 Ludlow.

Have ticked "Dutch" on the 3 favourites - Montifault (about 2.18), Enitsag (about 7.4) and Cider Man (about 8.8) - the "B Stk" column shows amounts of 14.02, 4.79 and 3.85 respectively - my Dutch profit required is set to 10 and the Dutch Bet Button is Green saying "Dutch Bet 22.95" (the numbersd might not add up as they are changing constantly)

Clicking the button though has the same effect (i.e. I get the dialogue, but no bets are placed. )Why???

For info, my version is 0.90s

When I say "fine".... it will be if either of them wins. LOL. Sorry again!

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
