Excel help

Postby 813615 » Fri Nov 14, 2025 8:51 pm

Hi guys, would any of you excel genius be able to tell me what formula I need to write for a trigger linked to what distance the race is. I have already managed to sort a cell that counts the furlongs so just want a trigger cell that looks at the furlong cell and says if less than 8 then enter a value of 5, if furlong cell is between 8 and 15 then return a value of 10, if furlong cell is over 15 then return a value of 15. Hope that makes sense, tried with my basic knowledge but it's become a head scratcher hence asking.
Many thanks

Hi.

In the cell where you want your value to appear put the following:

=IF($X$99<8,5,IF(AND($X$99>=8,$X$99<=15),10,IF($X$99>15,15,0)))

This assumes your number of furlongs is in cell $X$99. Change the cell address to your furlong cell address.

Steve.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
