Some meetings not showing amounts placed in excel

Postby Shaun » Sun Jul 07, 2019 6:30 am

I have an automated sheet designed to lay the first 3 in the market for different amounts, the issue i have seen today is at a couple venues the bets are placed i can see the bet reference and time placed in excel but the amounts including stake, price and profit/Loss are zero, even on the gruss interface it looks like there are no bets placed, i think it is a betfair issue as it is happening on 2 meetings only today.

Hi,

I have seen some other reports of the same thing.
It must be an issue with the API not sending the bet data back to the software.
Probably a fault in the streaming at the time but it seems ok right now.

Mark

I think it's when there's a material non runner and the keep sp bets get converted to full sp bets

Had the same problem this morning. In the market I noticed it, there were no non-runners and I had full stream turned off.

I thought it was because the software had been running from the previous day (potential space issue?).
A reload of Gruss seemed to have everything back running as normal.

Had a probably related problem yesterday on Sunshine Coast Race 2. All bets were placed twice so two different bet IDs for every bet in that race. As far as I can see checking both Saturday and Sunday it only happened to me on the one race.

I also had the same problem. At first I placed a LAY bet through Excel and then noted that it wasn't showing up on my BA interface. Thinking the bet hadn't gone throuigh I attempted to place the bet three more times !
The last attempt I used the BA interface directly, the unmatched bet showed up for about 2secs and then disappeared . All the bets were matched and fortunately the GG lost.
Lets hope it was just an API glitch in the system.
Cheers

This problem seems to be still ongoing. I use an automated bot that places bets through BA via excel and yesterday it kept laying the same bet multiple times until my Betfair account limit was reached. I didn’t notice what was happening until long after the race was over. Luckily the horse lost but very scary!

Does anyone know if this bug is a BA specific issue or a Betfair API issue? And has anyone noticed any other posts about this either on the Gruss forum or any other forum?

Let’s hope it can be fixed soon.

Cheers

Hi,

Previously it was an API problem as we saw that the same problem had been reported by users of another API software at that time.
I did not see any other reports of this issue recently.
It may only be affecting you, i.e. something to do with your set up.
I would recommend sending us a Diagnostic Log from the date where your had this problem so that we can check to see if any errors were recorded at the time.
To find the Diagnostic Log, go to the Options Menu and select 'Open Settings Folder'
A File Explorer window will open where you can go into the Diagnostic Logs Folder.
The files are named with the date in the name, e.g. today's file would be called BA_Diagnostic-2019-07-20.log
Please email the log from the date with the problem to admin@gruss-software.co.uk

Mark

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
