Is there anyway to anchor a ref point after each race?

Postby jonboysez » Thu Apr 24, 2014 1:42 pm

Hi - I'm looking for a way to record and fix a number that is constantly getting bigger e.g. the time of day, the number of races run that day, the betting bank etc - what I am trying to get at is a way to continue betting on successive races until I get an overall loss on a race (I say "overall" as I am backing and laying the horse in each race) - I'm not looking for a way to stop betting if I'm down on the day, I want to stop as soon as it goes against me which could be the first race or could be the fifth race, so I need some way of continuously updating my betting bank after each successive race - some way to nail the amount after each race so it can be compared with the amount before the race - I can only do excel programming so VBA solutions won't help me - am I looking for the Holy Grail here?

There's never any foolproof way just because of delayed races, stewards, photo's etc can all delay market settlements. If you don't want to use VBA have a look at logging bet results to the excel sheet that checks the results , also you can have the balance sent to the excel sheet.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
