Further Bets whether Matched or Not

Postby excelhasey » Mon Apr 07, 2014 9:56 pm

Am I going doo-lally ?? - Am I missing something ??

Is there any easy way of placing a second, or third etc bet on the same selection (at different odds or stake) whether the original bet is matched or not ??

I can use Clear function but how do I tell the spreadsheet that the original bet was placed so it knows when to place the second, third or following bet etc ??

You can only update an unmatched bet otherwise a new bet must be placed if the existing bet is fully matched.

The bet ref column will be appended by P if a bet is partially matched. You will have to use the MyBets sheet if you want to determine how much is matched/unmatched. If you need to update a bet then leave the bet ref column untouched and place UPDATE with required odds & stake.

The bet ref column will contain a numeric bet reference with no P appended if the bet is fully matched.

The CLEAR function can be used but using VBA to write the bet over 5 columns Q:U (last 2 columns blank) will place new bets and clear existing bet references in a single refresh.

So I can't say BACK selection 1 at £10 at 4.0 and then CLEAR and BACK selection 1 at £10 at 6.0 and that way I have two BACK bets in the system at 3/1 and 5/1 ready to be matched should the Odds reach these target figures and leave them both unmatched until they do get matched (if they do !!)

No ?? - I could do this manually obviously but its a ballache

Obviously VBA would be an easy way to keep track of things as you can record bets or place them in variables. But it should also be possible by using the MyBets sheet and doing vlookups to see how many bets have currently been placed to then trigger off any remaining bets

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
