req odds are not the matched odds

Postby mafia12 » Thu Oct 21, 2010 7:15 pm

Hello,

i am using excel trigger betting and i have a few bets which i can see from the results page as this

Code: Select all
Bet ref   Selection name   Bet type   Amount   Average Odds   Result   Req Odds   Req Stake   Matched Odds   Matched Stake

12492579072.00   My Vindication   L   -1.45   30   RESULT_LOST   50   0.05   30   0.05

is their a way of only getting the odds i requested? as it seems it must of dropped from 50 to 30 points really quick

thanks

Hi,

If there are better odds available when you submit your bet then Betfair can match you at the better odds. This is what Betfair call Best Execution.

Please see http://help.betfair.com/glossary/b.en.html

Regards,
Mark

No, this is a Betfair server side routine.

Why would you not want better odds ?

In your case, you wanted to lay @ 50 and have laid at 30, surely that is better for you ? Why would you want to lose more ?

I'm guessing he doesn't want the bet matched at all if better odds are available because he wouldn't have placed the lay bet in the first place if these were the odds displayed.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
