Auto Login

Postby Kevsy » Mon Oct 19, 2009 11:33 am

I know there the function is there to save your username but is there a way I can set up the program to log in to betfair automatically when I open it?

Hi Kevsy :)

I believe it is against Betfair rules for software makers to allow the saving
of passwords? So therefore BA will not save your password, only username.

If you really must or want to auto login then possibly you could consider
a "roboform" filler type program to do it for you? Just Google for it.

Hope this helps - Michael :)

It is against the rules, but we have provided a way for you to do it which does no go against the rules. You can include them as command line switches. Change the program shortcut to point to "Betting Assistant.exe -userid:yourid -password:yourpassword

Hi Gary,
thank you for this tip, but: Is there a option/parameter to load a specific profile?

Another question: I'm not able to change the saved username in ba.
To make it clearer: I have entered a username and ticked the box for saving it. If I now enter another username und tick this box the "new" username is not saved. When I start ba next time the "old" (first saved!) username appears again.
(Have tried many times on different pc, but no success!)
WHERE is the username saved? May i change it anyway?(ver. 1.0.66w)

There isn't an option to select the profile, I will see what I can do.

It's strange that you cannot update the username. It is working here. After you changed the username and unticked the box did you tick it again and get the security warning? You cannot edit the settings file directly as the username is encrypted.

Another way of simplifying the logon process is to use StrokeIt, a very useful application that allows you to assign mouse gestures to repetitive actions.

Yes, there is the security warning, but at the next start there is again the "old" username.
I will try reinstall ba...

Hi Gary,

Did you manage to get a command line for the use of selecting a profile?

Thanks.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
