Gary,

Follwoing on from the spreadsheet you have just amended for capturing the racing post tissue prices, will you be able to (if you can find the time) do one for capturing the odds on oddschecker?

Cheers

I am extremely busy at the moment. The pre-release version has several issues which need fixing and Mark has been on holiday this week. If I get any spare time in the coming weeks I'll have a look.

I'm afraid I'm snowed under at the moment. Ask me again in a few weeks time.

Has anyone done anything with this yet? If not I may have time to look at this in a few days.

I'm already suffering withdrawel symtoms with no racing until Boxing day....

Merry Christmas everyone!

How would you display this as it's multiple odds for one selection ?

To be honest I haven't even looked at anything at all so suggestions are welcome..

However, my initial thoughts are that I would create a seperate worksheet that linked to the main betting worksheet to identify market and selections, then have prices in oddschecker arranged similar to their site with a price in each column - i.e replicate their site in excel

Then it's generic and anyone can grab whatever price(s) is required

Probably doesn't need to run on every BA refesh, just on change of market and then every couple of minutes ?

I agree Ian, I don't think the folks at oddschecker would appreciate that either :)

I've just had a look at the oddschecker site and to be honest grabbing the odds is the easy part; it's the recognizing and linking markets that is difficult.

Once I get into the multiple markets it's a potential nightmare (eg think Betfair = Betfair Football » Barclays Premier League » Birmingham v Chelsea - Over/Under 2.5 goals and Oddschecker = football/english/premier-league/birmingham-v-chelsea/over-under-2.5)

I'll sleep on it and drink on it....

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
