LIYM,

What a read! A whole weekend gone, but well worth getting through all 29 pages!

Just a quick note of thanks (and praise) for a great piece of kit. The functionality allowing an immediate update of prices to Excel is top drawer - just what I've really wanted. It does, however, mean that my final excuse for those (frequent) losing days on Betfair (inability to react quick enough to market movements) has gone!

Thanks also for putting this up for free to anyone willing to take the chance with it. Keep turning a deaf ear to those detractors - I think we're all grown-ups here, and if we happen to cost ourselves a few quid while testing it, I can't see anyone with much cause for complaint, having downloaded it of their own free will.

This topic was also well worth the read, not least to get a flavour of what others are using it for, and to experience the ongoing battle of 'for Layit' v 'against'. Highly entertaining!

You've secured another 'for' vote here.

Thanks again, and good luck with all the development.

I have a pentium4 2.8GHz processor and 512 RAM with 1meg connection.By upgrading would it make much differance

What would the ultimate set up be that is on general availability, and how much differance would it make,I know we are only talking 1/1000ths of seconds.

Hey layit, I've got a couple of ideas to help from accidentally losing money.

1.) The market and bet change windows should be moved slightly. On several occaissions I've accidentally clicked a bet through while trying to move or close these windows.

2.) There should be something a little more obvious with the overide bets selection. Perhaps something red or flashing when overide is selected. I switch a lot between overide and non overide a lot and it costs me sometimes.

Anyway, as always I love the program. Its a great help.

I've just found one more. If you accidentally enter a bet and then hit cancel. A box comes up saying "there are no unmatched bets to cancel" but while that box is up you can't cancel your bet. If the warning didn't come up then I think you would be able to continue to hit cancel until it became available to cancel.

not sure if that makes sense.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
