you should trigger at say 1.5 but request odds of 1.01 so that you are certain to be matched.Even if it is matched at say 1.1 you are saving money asuming the horse wins.

Villa I am new to it but its relatively straight forward.

First thing to do is log in on top menu

Then select market.

In the preferences menu you can set up you default stakes that is what the programme will put on for you if you select one click betting you can have different amounts in back and lay fields, these appear top left hand corner. and the white boxes on teh right next to the horse. You can change these amounts against any horse by clicking in the white box and put whatever amount that you want.

You can also set the lay or back odds for the feild, if you want to lay the field at 1.01 put your stake in and hit lay feild button or back field button at the particular odds you place in and it will place orders or bets on every runner in the field.

The verify bets box is exactly the same as the site if you put a bet on up will come a box telling you your profit/liability and you say Ok and it will place it. If you untick the box if will place the bet straight away.

The overide odds box allows you to put a bet on at your default settings so if you want to play in running and want to make sure you bet is accepted you may set the default odds to back at 1.01 so if the horse is shortening quickly you just hit the button and it will place the bet for you and you will get the best odds availble to your default stake.

Cancel Remaining when matched is for laying the field and you only want the first bet to count once one is matched the rest of the bets are cancelled.

The reverse is a little confusing the first time what you are actually doing is backing on the lay side and laying on the back side so if this box is ticked and you hit the horse on the left hand side normally backing what in fact you are doing is laying the horse and visa versa.

Trading is self explanatory under the readme options, so is dutching.

It is just well worth playing with a race for the minimum stakes just to test it out and get used to it, it is easy to use and looks a lot more complicated than it is.

Sorry I was thinking and typing at the same time and i cant do 2 things at once.

The overide odds overrides your default odds and lets you back / lay at the price available so what you see is what you ge. Sorry if I confused you thinking about something else

Hi LayIt,

Top geezer for this program.

I'm using the excel sheet quite a lot. Is it possible to add another column to show if a bet is matched or unmatched. Many thanks

Hi LayItYouMug,
I have been using your triggered betting now for three weeks and it is brilliant. I have found it to be very stable, reliable and quick.
I know you are constantly trying to improve it so I thought I would make some suggestions.

These all revolve around the way I use your programme and so you might feel they are unneccessary but I thought I would propose them anyway.

In preferences would it be possible to add an option to automatically show the place market when a market is selected.
Likewise, would it be possible to choose your own default refresh rate.
Also for triggered betting could the 'Top Left Cell' default to our own preference, I always use C1 for instance.

As I calculate price differences, a way of incorporating any reduction factors would be handy, whether his be a separate column or incorporated into horse name field.

I don't know if this is possible but the ultimate would be to click a button in your programme that would open all the days horse races, one race per page showing both win and place markets. Then, (provided that there is an open workbook containing the same amount of worksheets as races), for all the races to be automatically logged to excel and triggered betting enabled.

Thanks again

I second this suggestion,I would like to be able to flick through the day's races(some or all-user defined) in excel.

The sheet has been a great addition,LayIt,thank you.

Hi Layit,
I have used your betfair trader version 0.96c and think it's great but I think I have found a problem with the market button. There is disagreement between betfair's markets and the software's markets. If selecting e.g Markets/soccer/english soccer/barclays premiership, a lot of the bets are missing i.e coupons, accumulators, fixtures, season match bets, team trophies.
This also applies to French soccer, Finnish soccer and most nationalities' soccer. It works on Swiss soccer though.

I am fairly new to this so please feel free to tell me I am stupid.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
