My Bets Tab

Postby excelhasey » Fri Jun 11, 2010 11:44 am

Checking the My Bets Tab yesterday I noticed there was a discrepancy between the number of bets recorded by BA (matched i.e. not including "cancelled") and the number of settled bets on Betfair. There where 2 extra bets recorded and matched on Betfair as against the BA Excel My Bet tab - Any ideas why ?? - I noticed I lost on one of the "extra bets", which makes me wonder has Betfair added this bet themselves !!!

Is there any way of Betfair telling the difference between a manual bet placed on the Betfair site and an automatic bet placed via BA ??

It's unusual that you've no idea where that bet came from. MyBets includes every bet placed on the market regardless of whether it was placed through Excel, manually in Betting Assistant, via the website or another API program and I am pretty sure there isn't a bug causing it to miss out any bets. Betfair can tell you if the bet was placed via BA if you send an email to bdp@betfair.com.

Another thing. What market was this on? MyBets does not show settled bets. Once the market is settled they disappear from MyBets.

Horse Racing

Below is a typical My Bet row, it was matched and I won, so I call them settled bets

That's not the MyBets sheet, it's the bet results sheet. The bet results sheet only includes bets triggered from Excel. If you you used the tick offset trigger (eg. BACK-T1) it does not log the offset bet refs in the results sheet, only the original back bet. Could this be your issue?

Ah I thought my results were going into the MyBets tab, sorry I have added a Results tab now so I will check that tomorrow

On the offset trigger issue, instead of me having a trigger that says simply Back or Lay (when my conditions are met) I can simply have it write Back-T1 or Lay+T1 etc and that will work directly in Excel and try and place / match a bet will it but at the next tick value ??

No, BACK-T1 is not for adjusting the odds of the back bet. It's for placing a lay bet at 1 tick lower than the matched back odds when the back bet is matched. There isn't a trigger for adjusting the odds of the back bet. You can make column R equal to the best back odds plus or minus any number of ticks with a custom function I created. Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
