BSP Pool in AUS Racing

Postby StuT » Tue Jan 05, 2016 10:43 am

Morning all,

I know I won't get a definitive answer to this but I thought I would ask for opinion from anyone with AUS Horse Racing experience.

On AUS Horse Racing markets If I Layed selections at BSP for something like £100 Liability would this affect the BSP Price.
At 100.0 the backers stake would be about £1
At 5.0 the backers stake would be £25
At 2.2 the backers stake would be about £84

Would these amounts affect the BSP Pool and in turn affect the BSP Price or are they drops in the ocean that will not affect it.
I'm asking this as I'm not sure how big BSP betting is in AUS.

I'm looking at both AUS Gallops and Harness races.

I'd be very surprised if £100 liability moved the BSP, even on the AUS markets. Remember the BSP also uses liquidity from the main Betfair market so if there's liquidity for LAY ODDS 1,2 & 3 that'd also be used in the reconciliation process. Onlly when you get to thousands in low liquidity markets it'll have a negative affect for you.

Yet again, many tanks CS.
I have noticed that the liquidity doesn't come in until the final couple of minutes but that's okay for me.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
