Q2 Cell Special Triggers

Postby xraymitch » Sat Jun 19, 2010 6:16 pm

Gary,

Forgive me if it is obvious, (but I am tired) just wondered if their was a way I could use the special Q2 triggers to populate my Workbook for a Meeting with say 8 Races.

Thus Workbook1 containing 8 Sheets would have Sheet1 for Race 1, Sheet2 for Race 2, Sheet3 for Race 3 and so on, all from the same Meeting.

Or put another way, is their a value I can place in Cell Q2 for each of my Sheets in my Workbook, so that Sheet1 will load the First Race from Meeting X, Sheet2 will load the Second Race from Meeting X, Sheet3 will load the Third Race from Meeting X etc... ?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

I'm afraid there isn't a specific trigger for this. You can do the following on each tab.

1) Use -3.1 to load all UK races
2) Use -1 to move through the markets and -8 to delete the unwanted markets. Cell J3 will contain "L" when the last market in the quick pick is selected.
3) Use -5 to go back to the first market
4) Repeat -1 until the required market is selected

It's not very elegant, but it's the only way it is possible at present.

But Gary don't you have a life !! It was only 4 minutes ago I posted that question :D

Seriously though, I am glad it was not obvious and my brain is still working :) thanks for the advice I will play with it and see what happens.

Might it be a trigger worth developing

Many thanks - now off to the pub or whatever is your thing with you !!

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
