Help

Postby micl » Sat Jan 27, 2007 2:55 pm

Hi,

I am not very good with the whole programming thing. I have got the information from the software into excel Sheet 2 in whcih I have the Win and Place market being shown. On Sheet 1 I would like to do calculations, could somebody please point me in the right direction, the calculations I am looking for are:

At 1 minute to the off then:

See how many runners there are, if there 6 do this set of sums if 7 do this set, 8 do this set etc........

If the value at the end is =>2 then bet the amount shown in this cell on that horse to place?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks
micl

From that vague description it can be done in vba macros, but I don't know if formulas could do it for you. My first thought is they could but formulas aren't my strong point so maybe someone else can comment better than me.

It's difficult to point someone in the right direction if they know very little to start with because all you can do really is to learn Excel. With a logical mind and a willingness to learn you could be up to doing it yourself in a month or so I reckon.

If you want someone to write the sheet then you need to say exactly what you want to do, with 'rules' for everything.

Good luck with it, when you start to get into Excel you'll realise how good it is. The hard part is coming up with the ideas to program into it.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
