Is the ladder clunky and slow to centre

Postby GaryRussell » Sat Oct 03, 2009 8:08 pm

Is the ladder as bad as I am reading on other forums?

I have read comments that it is clunky and slow to centre. Is anyone experiencing this? When you click on the centre of the ladder to centre the last traded price are you finding it slow to react?

Also someone said the ladder is slow at scrolling, I thought it was fast. Is it really that bad?

Also someone said it is slow to green up and behind the action. I thought one of our strong points was speed.

I'd really appreciate some feedback.

Hi :)

I use the ladder 98% of the time and my experience is:

centres virtually instantly - always has done
scrolls quickly as far as I can tell - possibly the prices "catch up"
greens up almost immediately too.

Hope this helps - do not quite understand why others may suggest otherwise?

Happy user me - Michael :)

I use the ladder all the time and have 3 versions running at the same time (usually) and I have none of the problems you list.

The only thing I can think about being slow to centre is if there are no bets or very few eg after a goal in a quite football game in the over/under markets.

As far as I am concerned there is nothing to worry about on the points you mention.

Works perfectly for me. What forums are you reading Gary? Maybe your competitors bad mouthing you because they can't compete with the features and value BA offers.

Thanks. It's good to know it's not everyone's experience. One of them was Betfair general betting and the other was another vendor's forum.

Maybe it was new users and their first experience was using it on a Saturday where API performance can be a bit dodgy. I admit that I can make improvements in the area of informing the user that the API is not performing well. I will be looking to improve this in future versions.

Hi' Garry,
Don't take any notice of the Lot In Question
They wouldn't know a good application from a bad one.

If they can't trade with B.A. it's because they can't trade.

Cheers
Jimmy

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
