Trigger betting

Postby Manic » Sat Nov 06, 2010 8:27 am

Howdy all,

I'm a new Gruss user (freakin love it), just wondering, is it possible to set up conditional/trigger betting so that once one or two for instance are triggered, a third is?

For example, if I set up (in conditional betting) to back horse A once it hits a certain price and lay horse B once it hits a certain price, then my back on horse C (or the field) will be triggered once those two are triggered?

Sorry if this is obvious, I just can't seem to find anything on it.

Thanks!!

This feature is not built into the conditional betting, but it is possible using Excel triggered betting. See the user guide here http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/Betting ... p/help.htm for details of what triggers are available.

Great, cheers.

Could you maybe point me in the right direction to learn more about these specific triggers? I know how to use the simple triggers mentioned in the Guide, however these more advanced triggers (I believe they're 'IF' codes ... ?), not sure where I can look to begin learning/implementing them.

Thank you!!

"IF" is not a trigger it's an Excel statement. What you're really asking is how to use Excel and that is way too big a subject for us to teach. We have to assume a certain amount of knowledge from the user.

Watch the automated betting videos here http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/page/97/Videos.htm which demonstrate using IF statements with triggers.

There is also a wealth of information on the internet on using Excel. Here is a site explaining the IF statement for example http://www.homeandlearn.co.uk/me/mes7p1.html

Brilliant, thank you, that helped heaps, I'm now good with formulas. If I may ask one more question?

Is there a Trigger Keyword to Back and Lay at whatever price is currently in the best price columns, or do I have to insert them manually?

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
