Response times freezing for 7 seconds IR

Postby greenfingers » Wed Oct 20, 2010 4:00 pm

Has anyone else been experiencing lumpy response times the past 2 days? I've been getting a price-refresh freeze of about 7 seconds about 3 times during every race, it doesn't seem to be happening pre-race. :?:

This is a subject close to my heart as response times are important to what I do. For me, the response times have been OK over the past few weeks but I have found the browser interface very slow, so I suspect Betfair have been doing stuff behind the scenes.

Sadly, because of their ludicrous polling system they still have in place, everything to do with Betfair will gradually slow down over time as traffic increases.

Thanks Doris.

I'm fairly sure the problem was with my ISP as eventually my connection was dropped completely. I was just asking if it was a more widespread Betfair problem as lumpy response times are often a precursor to a full crash as I'm sure you know.

I've been onto my ISP support and the line checks out fine now and response times were fine yesterday. :)

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
